Description: Southwest Alliance of Asset Managers is a limited liability company that provides management and marketing services for the United States Department of Housing and UrbanDevelopment’s single-family real estate program in Texas and New Mexico. Southwest Alliance is a proven performer in managing and marketing affordable housing and promoting homeownership.



The Company has an internship program for eligible college junior, senior and graduate level 
students. Interns will work closely with Southwest Alliance Team Members and experience on-the-job mentoring in an energetic and professional work environment which will provide an excellent introduction to the real estate industry. To be considered for an intern position, all candidates must pass a credit check and background investigation. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States now and in the future without requiring company sponsorship.



Responsibilities: 
Assisting Team Members in all real estate acquisitions, marketing and closing functions including:


• Assigning, ordering and reviewing appraisals


• Utilizing online asset and workflow management system to analyze asset status


• Tracking and analyzing categories of real estate assets


• Verifying property listings in the Multiple Listing Services and on BidSelect®


• Coordinating receipt of mortgagee title packages with mortgagee and foreclosure firms and receipt of closing agent title search, defects and notice of non-standard items


• Communicating with property management centers to begin management services


• Retrieving asset information and critical reports


• Assisting in preparation of special reports



Requirements: 
A Junior/Senior/Graduate level student currently pursuing a degree in Business or General Arts & Sciences who is interested in the real estate industry and is:


• Highly motivated, self-starter able to thrive in fast paced, high energy environment


• Capable of meeting timelines and completing projects


• Organized, analytical and demonstrated problem solving skills


• Excellent in communications, including strong verbal and written skills


• Able to work independently and also with a team to achieve desired results


• Experienced in Internet research


• Proficient Microsoft Word and Excel, including Outlook
