This course provides a comprehensive study of the property-liability insurance industry as well as various economic and financial implications related to issues such as automobile insurance costs and prices, tort reform effects on insurance markets, insurance distribution systems, corporate governance and organizational structure of insurance companies. Careful attention is also given to topics such as the analysis and assessment of insurance pricing models, solvency measurement and regulation, reinsurance and catastrophic risk, underwriting and risk selection, and underwriting cycles. This website is intended primarily for use by my students, but if you are a visitor feel free to look around and learn more about economic and financial aspects of property-liability insurance markets and institutions!
